TENDERCARE designs, supplies and installs landscaping and planting
to some of the country's finest public and private homes, to estates,
parks and gardens and to exciting contemporary urban development projects.
Here are just a selection of TENDERCARE's projects, which range in contract value from £5,000 up to more than £300,000. TENDERCARE acted as consultant in all cases unless specified otherwise:

The Oval cricket ground
Captivated in their millions on television and in their tens of thousands at the Oval cricket ground in September when England won the Ashes, a vast audience also experienced the spectacular hanging gardens 200m long and 20m high adorning the back of the newly constructed stand. The two thousand mature climbers which include: Clematis, Sweet Jasmine, Honeysuckle, Passion Flowers and Ivies were all grown, supplied and installed by Tendercare. Owzat!!!
American University London, Richmond
Supply of semi-mature trees and specimen shrubs for restoration of gardens
at the college campus, following the building of a new library
Restoration of Battersea Park (lottery funded)
(Consultant, Hilary Taylor). Supply of large semi-mature shrubs, conifers,
pleached trees and sub tropical plants. TENDERCARE is the only UK nursery
involved in this project to date. Contract type: supply, deliver and ongoing
maintenance.
Private homeowner in Denham, Buckinghamshire
Design, supply and renovate a soft landscape for a private garden. The
design was of a woodland style. Planting included sweeping beds of bamboos,
rhododendrons, large specimen trees and shrubs. Contract type: design,
supply and plant.
Said Business School, Oxford
(Consultant: Turkington Whitelaw. Landscape Architects: Holloway White
Allom)
Supply over 100 semi-mature trees on a contract grow basis for this prestigious
project designed by Architect Sir Jeremy Dixon
Private homeowner in Christmas Common, Oxfordshire
Design, supply and plant a soft landscape in a traditional English garden
style. Included in the planting were large specimen trees for boundary
interest. Taxus hedges to define vegetable parterre and formal gardens
surrounding the house, with buxus hedges, cones, spirals, balls and herbaceous
planting, with large trees to surround swimming pool area. Contract type:
design, supply and plant.
Hayes Transport Company
Supply and plant 40 semi-mature English Oaks to create an avenue in Thornecombe
Park Estate, near Guildford, to commemorate the new Millennium. Contract
type: supply and plant
St Martin's Lane Hotel, London
(Consultant: MCL Garden Designs). Supply 22 semi-mature Betula verrucosas,
60 assorted two metre Hedera and nine Trachelospermum jasminoides for
roof and other terraces of inner London's newest hotel. Contract type:
supply and deliver.
Aberuchill Ltd
Supply of semi-mature trees and specimen shrubs for the restoration of
gardens at Aberuchill Castle, Scotland. Contract type: supply and deliver
to Scotland
Browns Restaurant
(Consultant: Martin Mortimer, The Landscape Practice). Supply of climbers
to courtyard garden for Brown's restaurant, Kew Green (London). Contract
type: supply and maintenance. Supply taxus and specimen shrubs for Brown's
Restaurant, Barnes, London. Contract type: supply and deliver.
British Film Institute
(Consultant: John Medhurst, landscape architect). IMAX Cinema Waterloo:
a total of 1,500 mature climbers had to be sourced and grown in various
forms to provide maximum impact for the opening of the cinema. The contract
included 8m high Wisteria, trellis grown Parthenocissus, honeysuckle,
jasmine, and four varieties of ivy. Contract type: grow, supply, plant,
and five years' maintenance.
Ram Dis Ticaret - Istanbul Turkey
(Consultant: Jim Honey of Garden Design Partners). Supply and delivery
of plants to Turkey.
Ground Control
(Consultant: Livingston Eyre). Refurbishment of landscaping at BP's offices
at Hemel Hempstead. Specimen shrubs 10- 40l size used. Contract type:
supply only.
McDonalds Restaurants Ltd
(Consultant: Eachus Huckson). Supply of specimen shrubs and climbers in
10l to 100lcontainers to all drivethru sites south of M62 motorway. Mainly
evergreens such as Cotoneaster, Elaeagnus, Escallonia, Prunus and Phormiums.
Designers secured best value for money by specifying from vast range of
varieties and choice of container sizes available from TENDERCARE's extensive
stock. Contract type: supply only.
English Heritage
(Consultant: Penelope Hobhouse Associates). Creation of English Heritage's
first 'new' garden at Walmer Castle, to celebrate the Queen Mother's role
as warden at Cinque Ports and her 95th birthday. The contract was won
in competition against leading European nurseries. Box parterres were
contract grown in troughs, specimen yews at 3.0m were clipped to castle
shape. Semi-mature trees and mature yew hedging supplied. Contract type:
contract grow, supply and plant.
Powergen
(Consultant: Mark Westcott, landscape architect). Semi-mature limes 30-35cm,
shrubs, plant and maintainance for Powergen HQ, Westwood Business Park,
Coventry. Contract type: supply, plant and maintain
Dover Harbour Road
(Consultant: Jan Martinez, LA). Semi-mature trees and shrubs and plant
contract for Dover Docks car terminal. Assist landscape architect in the
planting, design and plant selection of mature plants to create immediate
impact to a hostile and bleak looking customer arrival point.
Hampton Court Palace
Contract grow specimen material and topiary plants for the privy garden
restoration project. Contract included sourcing older varieties of plants,
clipping formal plants to a template and growing on plant material to
the specification given. Contract type: contract growing of specimen material
and topiary.
Environment Agency
(Consultant: Gebr. Van den berk Tree Nursery, Netherlands)
Plant and maintain 74 semi-mature plane trees for A13 trunk road, East
India Dock Road, phase six. Contract type: plant and maintain.
