Sculpture

Set amongst the 20 acre nursery is a wide range of sculpture, positioned in natural settings in the midst of our trees and plants.

We work closely with internationally renowned artists to select sculptures, sundials and water features that will compliment our customers’ gardens, terraces and conservatories.

Much of our sculpture is sourced by ARt OUTSiDE– a web based gallery that specializes in sourcing, promoting and selling outdoor sculpture. ARt OUTSiDE and TENDERCARE work closely together to select and display a wide – and ever changing - range of sculpture and reliefs on many subjects that are suitable for private gardens, public parks and civic monuments.

Currently, TENDERCARE is also displaying a small range of Zimbabwean stone sculptures by Wengai Chilenga. Wengai began his life as a sculptor in 1989 and his pieces are inspired by the Zimbabwean people, the political situation and social events occurring in and around the country.

Sundials

Over the last ten years, David Harber has emerged as a master in this field, combining the highest standards of craftsmanship, engineering and artistic flair to produce a portfolio of dials that is unsurpassed in its range and diversity. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential to the diallist’s art: David ensures that every handmade dial from his Henley-on-Thames workshop is tailored not only to the individual’s taste, but also to the exact latitude and longitude of its intended location. And, of course, each dial is personalized with what is known as dial furniture, usually through engraving or leter-cutting.
