Ferns have been a prominent part of the earth’s vegetation for millions of years – relatives of present day ferns and fern allies dominated the vegetation and were the major living form of plant.

These days their elegant, textured foliage and a tolerance for shade make ferns an invaluable plant. Diverse in shape and size, ferns provide architectural interest, act as foils for flowering plants and form drifts of ground cover.

They thrive in acid or neutral soils enriched by leaf-mould in sunless sites and are often to be found at the base of trees.

TENDERCARE’s range of evergreen and deciduous ferns is extensive and customers can select from 5-litre to 20-litre specimens.
