HGV Driver (Class 1)

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Driver (ideally up to 18 Tons but will consider 7.5 tons) to join us at Tendercare Nurseries based in Denham, Middlesex.  

One of the leading suppliers of specimen plants in the UK for over 30 years, we are continuing expansion of the business and are excited to be recruiting for several new roles

Tendercare offer a variety of garden design and landscaping services and your role will be to ensure the safe delivery of our stock whilst providing the highest degree of customer service.

You will be responsible for daily safety checks on your vehicle and assist in the loading of stock, checking the correct off loading equipment is available.

Arriving at your destination you will supervise or carry out the safe unloading of our plants and trees and assist with customer enquiries regarding Tendercare stock. 

On completion of each journey, you will ensure that the vehicle is clean and prepared for the next days work.  You will attend to any light maintenance work and notify the scheduler of any larger issues or repairs required

In order to be considered for this role, it is essential that you have the following key skills and competencies:

A clean HGV driving licence

Basic mechanical knowledge - able to undertake daily and weekly maintenance checks

An interest in Horticulture

A strong team player

Flexible attitude to work practices

Physically fit and strong

Pro-active with the ability to ‘think on your feet’ when the occasion arises

A fork lift licence would be desirable
